Here's wishing all AMTRAites a safe and happy Xmas.
May your hills be 'just' achievable, Your river crossings not too deep, May the ride leaders brief be believable, With fond memories home to keep, May your bike always be retrievable, And the rips in your gear do not creep.

Twas the night after Christmas, when all through the shed Not a part was stirring (not even a honda valve). The riding gear was hung by the toolbox with care, In hopes that a ride soon would be near.
The bike stood silent, firmly locked to the shed, While visions of "narrow" track danced in its head. Outside the trailer and tie-downs, Lay there in wait.
When out my alarm there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed and jumped in the shower. Away to the shed I flew like a flash, Not forgetting on the way to grab me some cash.
The sun on the rise of the new-dawn day Gave the promise of great fun coming my way. With haste I gathered up bike and gear, Hitched up the trailer then headed off for the weir.
With the van sliding in sideways, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be P-Air. More rapid than eagles his words they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Freddo! now, Marls! now, Tickets and Yarra! On, Coota! On, DNS! on, on Phil and all! To the top of Mt Terrible! lets ride across the dam wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild bunch fly, When they meet with an obstacle, jump to the sky. So up to the mountain-top the riders they flew, With the mighty berg at full noise, P-air led the way through.
And then, in a twinkling, they were all there The group stopped at the top taking in the mountain air. As I drew in my breath, and was turning around, On down the track led P-Air in a great bound.
The stump of a tree he cleared it with ease, As he wrapped on the throttle he cackled with glee. He had a dusty face and a little round belly, That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!
In no time at all at Jamo Pub they do call, And parmas and pots were soon ordered for all. Then I heard him exclaim, to all that were in sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-ride!"
