Is there a way of displaying a map of victoria with the ares shaded displaying where not to ride due to bush fire damage.
Just so everyone is clear of the affected areas and stay well clear of these untill these areas are given the all clear.

There is no vegitation to trap noise any more and as well i just feel it would be very Undignified to these poeple that have lost so much.

I don't have the computer skills to do this.

P.S I know dse has a map but needs to be zoomed in more if you know what i mean, kinda like a google earth thing.

We need to wait a bit longer till this is all finally over to get a full picture, at the moment the maps area still changing.

The club will probably then say what are the no go areas in regard to putting rides on.

I have been a member of AMTRA for about 18 months and have been on around 20 club rides. I think with the exception of the Merton ride, every other ride was in an area affected by the fires eg, Marysville, Murrindindi, Narbethong, Buxton, and Fumina.
We are going to have to wait unitl all the fires settle down and the DSE, Parks Victoria etc deem areas safe to access. This may take some time, maybe months.
Basically if you still want to ride you are going to have to travel further. This may be towards the Otways or further to east Gippsland or into the high country but it would be foolish to venture into any of these areas unitl all major fires settle and are put out.
I am sure ther are many members of the club that would be interested in venturing into new territory when safe so that our regular riding areas can settle.
Also the last thing the authorities would want to see is trail bikes tearing through the already devastated areas.

When the time is right, i'm sure the rides will go on.

Services Tapped Out

Guys,

The current state of play is that all of the emergency services in Victoria are tapped out to the max.

Riding is a risky activity that has the potential to leave people needing ambulance or air evacuation.

With all helicopters, ambulance and SES services stretched as far as possible, the only sensible thing is not to ride at all until the fires are out.
