Title: MA Question
Post by: Alwr on December 13, 2012, 11,00:48 AM
Anyone.
Looking into weather its better to cough up the money and get a yearly MA Competition licence, rather than paying for a couple day licences through the year, well next year. As we have a link to MA for our cover for events like Daylesford, does this mean i can put Amtra down as my club on the form for the license?

I believe we joined through the riders division and as such do not qualify as a club for a competition licence. Will try to confirm this.

If you can use our club ( AMTRA) to get your competition licence, then our club has become a racing club, as some of you know that I'm very much against the MA/MV affiliation.

I'm not against the family days at John T's I reckon it's a good thing, I know that some of you think that I'm against it......You can think what you like.

Cheers Mat.
Just wondering if i need to join yet another club. Or the fact we have already signed AMTRA over to MA's control? If i needed to join the diamond valley club as well. As AMTRA is non competitive, i thought the two may not align.

Maybe when i run for president next year i can change this. If we can get the club to issue red plates for a few members to compete on their old banggers. Then maybe we can see what's needed to issue competition licences for the few members who wish to do the odd event?

I have asked Bronwyn at MA to clarify.

The red plates are so you can use your old banger on public roads. Like rec reg only better. You can compete in Vinduro/VMX without the plate.

We have not signed AMTRA control over to MA, they don't know it but we are going to control them. ;D

Ok.
I must of miss understood something. Looks like another membership fee to try and hide from Shaz? Now, DVMCC or MCRCV?

Not trying to be silly here or bag any of the clubs you mentioned. I suggest you look at a club that is based in an area you ride in. EG Maffra/Sale which is nearish to Fumina or the Myrtleford club which is Abbeyard. You could also look at Holbrook club. At least then your membership goes to club that you might feel better supporting.

For me it would be Corner Inlet, as I have spent a fair amount of time around there. They also run a VORC round which is the type of competition I would consider running in.

So going to do the A4DE?

They were the two clubs Angus mentioned for doing a couple pony express races and sprint races. Then move on or up the ladder to off road series? Wasnt planing on trail riding with them. Ive know my own guide for around Fumina.
