Tell us what gearing you have on it now ??
From Memory 13/50 or 13/52 sounds like the go.

Check this out:

I run 13/52 on my WR 250.

Works well on the dirt, but I wouldn't want to ride to Sydney with it!

If you are new to this pass time, stick with 13 on the front and anywhere from 49 to 52 on the rear if you are planning on doing the average AMTRA ride. For more open fast flowing riding you can drop down on the back.
1 tooth difference on the front sprocket is equivelent to two teeth on the rear. Will

Are you talking the two stroke? My 300 came with 13/50 gearing which was a bit "snappy" if I wasn't carefull with the throttle. Top speed wasn't very high either, about 80kph
(i wasn't game to wring its neck)
Gone to a 14 on the front mainly to smooth it out a touch, but also getting higher top speed by about 20kph.
Not to mention slightly more fuel range.

If it's a 2 stroke the stock 13-50 gearing works well for most riders. With this gearing it will have a top speed of about 130km/h. I will also cruise on 100km/h without any problems(sometimes my pipe turns blue Shocked). Some riders run a 14 on the front, but I find this too tall as I am not a fast rider.

And Will, do your maths. One tooth on the front is between 3 or 4 teeth on the back. Closer to 4 really.

Come on Mr Toast
That bike will break 100km/h in 4th gear. Give it the beans man. Grin Grin Grin

And going from a 13 to a 14 tooth front should add 10.0769km/h to your top speed. Roughly!
