I use belray 4 stroke thumper, which is semi-synth.  Don't quote me on this but a semi offers more protection than a full.  I would go off what the bottle says motul is suppose to be pretty good oil.

I used Motul 5100 in my R1, including track days. No problem, apart from the bike getting stolen. Maybe they were after the oil.

KTM are tied in with Motorex, which is why they would recommmend it and would not provide opinion about anything else.

In the end it is your bike so your choice.

At present I am using Castrol oil for the bike, and will probably use the Penrite oil when I need more. The leftover Motul I have is now serving as a doorstop.

I have been using the penrite Sin 5 in my KTM 525EXC which is a full Synthetic oil and have had no problems with it. Again it is personel choice, before the KTM I was using Penrite SIN 10 in my XR and still use it in my son's XR and again with out any issues. Regards Will. 5 litres of Penrite Sin from the club is around $64.00. if you need any just let me know and I will organise it for you.
