Well, Marysville ride on 9 November was a few firsts for me:

  • First time I'd taken the DRZ off road
  • First time I'd taken a bike sideways
  • First time I'd jumped a bike
  • First time I'd ridden single track
  • First time I'd done a hill climb
  • First time I'd ridden wet clay (that poo doesn't come off!)
  • First time I'd boiled the radiator (blame the crappy stock tyres)
  • First time I'd dropped a bike (twice)
  • First time I'd gone off the side of the road on a bend (at least the first I'd heard of it Brad - maybe that was someone else!!!)
  • First time I'd ridden with AMTRA

And none of these things will be the last time...

So basically I never let anyone know I'm still a bit of a rookie, but at least I didn't hold anyone up due to total ineptitude!!!

Thanks to everyone for their support and hints throughout the day - you guys helped make it a great day.  Rode 300k no problems.  Who needs a trailer?

Good to hear you had a good time and got home in one piece Cheesy I was the bloke behind you on the ttr250 when yours was pretending to be Thomas the tank engine Grin         Mind you a trailer does come in handy when you ride 140 to 160 km of that sort of stuff or come of and hurt yourself, but then again we all say that will NEEEEVER happen to us! ! ! see you onthe next ride  Wink

Hello Grantro, great to hear you had a good time!

I think you were mistaken, it could'nt of been single track,  it must of been an overgrowm 4wd track  Smiley

Grant,
It was not you that was off the side of the road that was a KTM. Mate you did a great job the plave can be a test my first ride was a shambles there! BTW at the place where we both came off I am sporting three good size bruises from the weekend. I look forward to our next ride and may put on something at late notice, apologies it might be on this side of town.

It would appear that I put on a good ride. Pity about being up at the sharp end, I miss all the fun.  Though I did ride the length of the triangle with a flat tyre, hate changing them on the track.  Thanks for coming , we will do it again next month.
