G'day guys,

I've just joined AMTRA and am keen to try and get to the Kenda Rally and a few weekend rides every once and a while. But due to work commitments and the Mrs I can't generally get out for weekend rides and am hoping there are some other shiftworkers out there that might want a ride during the week. I'm in Gisborne so anything around the Wombat and Lerderderg would suit me best.

Cheers

Matt,

Unfortunately, AMTRA can't 'tailor' rides to suit everyone, but if you put a post up saying that you're keen to ride in a particular area, on a particular day, you may get a response from someone wanting something similar.  It may not be an 'organised' ride, but you may hook up with a member or 2, and suddenly you've organized yourself a ride.

Good luck and welcome to the club.

I'm a shiftworker and have the same problem in that I work 2 weekends in 4. Unfortunately Wombat and Lerderderg are miles from Gippsland Roll Eyes

Thanks Boys,

It's a blessing and a curse having days off during the week. Plenty of empty tracks to carve up but nobody to tag along with. It might have to come down to changing jobs or the Mrs......I like my job.

I quite often have days off during the week so your not alone.

I don't really know wombat that well, what level rider do you think you are?

Chrism,

Going by the AMTRA rating system I'd probably have to say a 2 but I'll give almost anything a crack mate.

Thought I would reopen this one.

I've just joined and am also a shift worker so getting out during the week suits sometimes also.

I'm down in Frankston so anything out east suits me, Marysville, Labertouche, Neerim, etc. even Kinglake.

Probably a level 2 but will ride up/along anything, just a bit slower going down the steep stuff!

Will post something up in the coming week or so and see if anyone can come along.

Anyone got input on the best places to ride after all this rain?  Did Marysville on the weekend and that wasn't too bad, especially in the afternoon, although some of the clay in the morning was like ice.

Tim, Chris and others,   I have a bit of time between now and the end of the month and will happily go out with anyone to any area. (Have maps will flounder a bit).

Funny you mention it Phil, I'm on leave for the next two weeks!  It's snow season though and I'm heading up for a few days tomorrow.  I'll let you know what I'm up to when I get back...

September 1,2 10,11,12,13,14,15,16 and 24,25,26,27,28,29,30

Working this weekend so going to miss riding tomorrow.  Anyone up for a ride this Wedesday 25th and/or Wednesday 1st September?

As I mentioned earlier, pretty much happy to ride any area north, east and south of Melbourne.

Let me know if interested and we will work out the best spot.

Cheers.

Ended up going for a ride at Labertouche/Bunyip State Forest.

Some of the tracks were cut up very bad by 4WDs so I had to make a few U-turns.

Going to head back out next Wednesday if the weather is OK as I want to explore some new areas.

Let me know if anyone else is interested.
