Post by: Bumpy on September 12, 2007, 08,35:53 AM
Hi, i'm new around here. My name is Rob, and i would like to know the rules and regulations on becoming a financial member of the AMTRA ?

Can anyone point me into the right direction, or let me know what must do/have to become a member please.

Hi Rob

AMTRA is a fairly laid back club. There is no nomination by a member sort of thing, if you wish to join we welcome you.
Basically we're a club who treat each other as mates and we go riding together.
We just try to organize ourselves as a club so we can do stuff with people who want to get on a bike and ride.

The club was formed in 1969 so We've been around for a while.

There are three ways to join:-
1/ Join online here, just look here (look on the first page) and you'll find you can sign up online.
2/ Download the member and indemnity form and send it off in the post.
3/ Come to the next club meeting and sign up in person.

Does it matter i have no licence or rego on my bike ?

We'd still welcome you as a member, but without Reg and a license you'd be limited in the rides you could participate in.

99% of AMTRA rides are run on public tracks where Reg and a license are required by law.

Hi,

I'm looking at letting my full reg go and getting rec reg.
How much would this limit the rides I could go on?

At present I would be a beginner on dirt!

Cheers
Andrew

That would be a mistake. I think you would regret doing that as having rec reg will limit the amount of rides you can go on by around 50%.
