Hi Zeb,

I would love to come along for this if it is not full. Do I need to be a member to come along for the first ride?

I have ridden for a few years, but just getting back into it after a bit of a break with an injury so this sounds good.

Thanks,

Peter.

Dropping like flys we now have a few spots open if anyone wants to come along , yep will be hot so bring lots a fluid .

Had quite a few calls so for everyone else who might be wondering , yes I am carrying a few injuries from Sean's Spargo romp but the ride is still going ahead as planned ,  if its extremely hot those that want to pull out at lunch should not feel awkward for doing so , if its to much feel free but the full ride will be run for those that want to keep going.

Lookingforwardtoseeingyouallthere.

Just trying to work out where I am going as I haven't been out that way and don't want to end up at the wrong place.

Lets clarify the directions for some of the newer members  ....

- Head out of town on the princess highway towards Pakenham.
- About 15 past the Berwik exit you will come accross twin BP servos one on each side of the highway " this is not where you want to stop " keep going along the princess highway for about another 50 odd klms , you do not need to and should not exit anywhere until you reach the meeting point..
- A tell tale sign that you are getting close is when you go past " Gumbaya Park " you cant miss it, it will be on your left as you head outbound.
- 15klms after Gumbay you will come accross another set of twin servo's but this time they are caltex servos, exit here into the service station and you will see the bikes and trailers around the back , that will be us.

Word of wasrning this servo is an extremley popular meeting spot for bike riders on a sat morning , it is a good idea to ask someone if they are the AMTA group if they say yes ask for me and come and say hi to me. Dont laugh but if you assume that you are with the right group you could actually follow a group of cars to anywhere from  Nerrim to Sale ...

Thanks to everyone that came along yesterday , yes it was hot , yes I led some of you into a very steep very rocky trap ( sorry unintentional but when i spotted the hill i got so excited i couldnt resist , the climb out was
Grouse  ) I hope everyone had a good day.

One Berg died ( fuel pump ) and he and the bike got an air conditioned ride back in Paul's land cruiser with Paul , Bob and Stanley the dog ,thanks Paul saved us at least a couple of hours, , freddo had a flat but that was about it for drama so i was very happy to see everyone back safe and sound.

Thanks to ken and Freddie for tailing great work .

As usual lovely people make for a great day and that it was.

I would like to thank Paul and the recovery team again for getting me and my bike back to the cars.

Was having a great time (for the 20 minutes my bike was running...) until the bike wouldn't start again after stopping on a corner. It was very frustrating as there was nothing that could be done to get it going again despite the best efforts from Johnny and the others. The fuel pump just wasn't going to come back to life. Back to the shop it will go with less than 400kms on the clock...

Thanks to Zeb for organising the ride and everyone who helped with trying to get the bike going again and rescuing me. It was good to meet everyone, there was a great group of people on the ride.

When the bike is fixed and I have put a few more kms on it and can trust it will make a ride I would love to come along for another ride if you would have me back.

Thanks,

Peter.

Peter it's shame that it let you down but that's  part. of it sometimes .... Best place to test her out when you get it back is another AMTRA ride we would love to have you back  ....  Plus you got to spend some time with Stanley .

See you out on the trails soon I hopel.

Thanks for the ride Zeb, it was nice to get the afternoon ride done in the morning (you had to be there)

The knarly rutted down hill on Robertsons track was interesting to say the least and should be an optional feature for future sorties, if only they had spelt it proper. Good to see people giving it a go.

Well done to the ladies out there getting dirty, Marles on the 'Bobbed' Yam for the first (and only?) time and Annie out on the Freerider for the second time.

Didn't see a lot of the action as tail man and for those who thought I was having a nap back there, there was no way I was riding in dust all day so was well back and loving it.
