Title: Australia Day ride
Post by: Peter Monty on December 03, 2010, 02,05:22 AM
Ok I will get in early. Not sure if the club has a traditional ride on this day. So if this is stepping on toes, tell me & we will run it on another date.

Starting in Three bridges we will be doing a ride to Noojee for lunch, then a return loop in the afternoon. Around 160km total. No fuel available at Noojee (unreliable supply) so we will sort a fuel drop. BYO fuel & we will get it there.

This is aimed as a good high enjoyment challenge. So its aimed as a level 2+ or clubman ride. Tight technical, fast challenges & bugger all open main dirt roads.

Rec reg OK, lunch at the TOOLSHED, fuel drop, departs 9.00am.

UPDATE : Please note KM change as we have now finished the route & the start time. We want to DEPART 9.00am So be there before & ready to leave @ 9.00

More details posted 2 weeks before the event

Cheers Pete
OK guys we have aprox 17 20 riders for this ride. 9.00am we are gone, sorry we wont be waiting. Tracks we checked today, we spent some time with the chainsaw clearing some storm damage off some sections, however these were only cleared enough for riders, so dont expect car width clearing. Looks like it will be a great day weather wise. So looking forward to some fun! Dont forget BYO fuel, cornerman system will apply. I asked Shane Watts if he wanted to come but he aplogized as he was heading back to America & couldnt make it! LOL
Final instructions, as we have a large number going, please be early, park as directed please, BYO fuel, Lunch at toolshed bring some cash, Rider briefing 5 minutes before we go @ 9.00 sharp, Cornerman system, level 2+ so we dont underrate the ride. Its going to be a ripper! SORRY NO MORE RIDERS!

There is glitch with the forum software.

Australia day is Wednesday. The day of the 1st monthly meeting for the year.

Hey Nathan, we found a hill thats stopped the boys twice so far (wet conditions) , I have only had a half hearted go at the end of a long day. If we can find the other end & are sure where it goes we might dedicate some time to this track. It did look simple enough at the start but it turned technical, granite gravel slippery, big rocks, ruts etc on an over grown rough track. But having said all that I know others who will hit it up first time, hehehe. Time permitting!
Time permitting i'd like to have a go at that hill!
