Warning Warning Warning
Don't forget the aero guard mozzies the size of Serge there apparently. We need to finalize the numbers as we will need to organize the food for the lunch, can we talk anyone else into attending this very important ride.

Should I be offended?

Hi all, we recieved a $50 cash donation from one of our members who cannot make the ride, Thank you very much Menace.
Can anyone else help with donations , we still need to cover food and drink for the barby lunch, and of coarse any other donations would be greatfully recieved for our major Raffle and given away in an effort to raise the much needed funds which Cathy Steele requires to complete her Cancer treatment.
We have a bottle of high quality whiskey for the slide the coin game but I we are still open to other ideas as well.
There is still room on the rides, remember if you are a fan of sand and whoops make the effort to get on Johnnys ride and if you are a fan of a cruisy ride full of fun and laughter and socialising then get onto Bobs ride.
Entrys will not be taking for either ride after the 20/11/12 due to the need to organize the catering. However if you wish to get on after the 20/11 CASH is a universal Langauge of bribary and corruption. You pay enough and I will shop for your lunch myself.

Level 1 plus L2 Ride saturday 24th of November Woodside Fund Raiser ride 2 to Support Cathy Steele in her fight with Ovarian Cancer .
Ok, here is Cathy Steels story.

To refresh your memory why we are doing this again here is Cathy’s story once again-
The story I want to tell you all is about Mat Creasey's adopted sister Cathy Steele.
I was having a Bourbon with my mate and most of your mate Mat the other day and he told me this tragic story and I have since done some of my own research on Cathy.

Cathy Steele has been a big part of Mat's Family for many years, she is 33 years young , has 4 children aged between 11 and 3 years old.
Cathy and her partner and 4 kids lost everything they owned in the floods at Rochester 18mths ago.
At short notice they could only rent a place in Barooga,
anyway around 6mths ago Cathy went for a blood test as she had a bad flu, they sent her to Melbourne straight away were she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, the silent killer, it is that far advanced, that apparently they believe that she may have had it for up to 10 years.
Cathy has to come to Melbourne on a regular basis for her cancer treatment and as she does not have private cover has to pay out of her own pocket.
Many of Cathys other friends and family are also currently fund raising to help her fight her cancer but there is still a long road ahead. As Cathy is the sort of person who is always the first to help anyone and never asks for help for herself Mat and I would like to run some rides through the club and in return hope we can raise some much needed funds for Cathy through donations and raffles and perhaps some well deserved fines to attendees of the rides.
It will not be a requirement for the attendees to donate, but if they feel like doing so we would encourage them to donate what they can afford.
I think the raffle tickets will be sold but also for every fine someone pays they would receive a raffle ticket in return for there fine donation.
Fines should and would be all in good fun, like if you have to have a hand up then 1 fine, if you need your bike to be ridden as I often do 2 fines and so on. Here is a good chance for everyone to contribute; I would like to build up a fine list so please feel free to send me some ideas.
I now want to share a quote with you all from Cathy’s facebook page which seams to sum up the sort of person Cathy Steele is
"Tomoro Night my dear friend is hosting a fundraiser for me at 7 pm at Barooga football club to help us pay for my cancer treatment. My brother Paul said the other day that everything in my life has been fate!. We lost all our possessions and our jobs in the floods, Cobram Victory soccer Club did’nt answer the phone when i was trying to sign up and Cobram tigers soccer club answered there’s after the second call. We could only rent a house on short notice in Barooga which led us to the local primary school there. We r now at a great soccer club and our children go to a great little school. We have now built a great little home and have made life long friends. during this difficult time in my life I have landed in the right place. Daryle has a great job and it all comes back to losing our home 18 months ago. i never thought id say this!!!!! but our possessions were worth losing. we r in the right place once and for all. Thankyou to all my knew and dear friends who have made my life easier xoxox"

This is the second of a few rides which Mat and I plan to run and we will be cross promoting the rides on facebook , AMTRA and if need be on Dirt bike world .
The first thing I need is a list volunteer helpers to sweep ride, help with the barby and raffle. Now if we have enough support the ride will be Brocken into groups of around 25 per group and we may even do a L2 ride if there is enough interest.
Some of us also plan to camp there on Saturday night and party on and perhaps do some riding Sunday morning so anyone is welcome to stay over if they please.

Meeting point 1: (if you are travelling down the Sth Gippsland Hwy) will be departing at 9.00am from opposite the Shell Servo at Woodside on the Sth Gippsland Hwy Between Yarram and Sale-approx 2 hours from melb and to convoy to the unloading area. Roughly 10 minute drive for an on the bike start about 10.00am.

Meeting point 2: (if you are travelling down the Princes Hwy) will be leaving Traralgon 8.10am opposite SuperCheap on the princes hwy just as you enter Traralgon on your right hand side to convoy to the offloading area which will take approx 50 mins for a 9.30 start on the bikes.

At 1pm We will then meet back at the cars for a Barbeque lunch which you may or may not donate to the cost of for the barby and a soft drink. Extra drinks will be available.
At 2.30PM we will then head back out for another ride and should be back at the cars around 5.30pm.
The raffle will be drawn at lunch time.
Fines will be done in Dollar amounts, Basic fine $1 not such a basic fine $2 Fines for Volunteers will be $5 and I hope to get each volunteer for at least one each so bing your cash. Ride leader or Tailman fine will be $10 but lets hope there will be none of these. As I said before if you pay a $1 fine then you get one raffle ticket and if you pay a $2 fine then you will get 2 raffle tickets and so on. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at 1 for a $1 each.
Please reply to this post with your intentions to come along and at the same time please let me know if you only want to come and ride . If you wish to be a sweep rider then please only competent riders who are willing to pass on there knowledge to the other attendees apply for this job. At the same time if you wish to attend a L2/ride then please indicate this as if we get enough wanting this sort of ride then we will cater for you also.
Even if you can not make the day as a ride attendee I would still encourage you to make a small donation .
We are also in the need for some raffle prices, so far we have the following items. So if anyone has a worthy raffle prize donation please let us know also.

So Far we have the following Donated

Signed V8 Race car posters.
Bottle of Scotch.
RedRons famous blue windcheaters.
Thermos Mugs
Fosters Australian Grand Prix 2006 Polo Shirts
Fosters Australian Grand Prix 2006 Drink Bottles
Mark Webber Red Bull Puma Racing Caps
ING Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix Caps
Slab of Heavy Beer so bring your muscles
Slab of light beer so bring your wife

As for the L1 beginners ride, is a perfect ride for someone coming into the sport or someone who just wants to increase there skills or even someone who just wants a cruisy ride.
THIS RIDE WILL BE A BEGINNERS / LEVEL 1 RIDE AND WILL BE AT BOBS PACE.
Really looking forward to seeing beginners and anyone at all that wants to come and have a nice easy day and some fun on the bike.
*The terrain is easy and flat with no big hills. Hopefully a few puddles to splash through, and nice open tracks with a few whoops here and there...but not big ones. Enough to have fun though. There is a small sandy stretch that I have found to be a little bit of a challenge...but I have managed to get through it several times...theres heaps of help if needed...but if i can do it...anyone can
As per all AMTRA rides there will be first aiders on the ride and also satelite phones and Epirbs in case of emergency.
The ride should be fairly straight forward, with a few ups and downs,  some sandy trails, but as long as you enjoy a good laugh we guarantee you a fun day out on your bike.
Yes lady's Bob would love to have you along to support her.
All attendees must have a current bike learners permit or a current bike license. The bike you are riding must also be registered either fully or Rec reg is fine also.
The ride is open to both AMTRA Members and Guests and visitors. The corner man system will be used and for those  who do not know how it operates it will be explained in full in the pre ride briefing.
Johnny D will be leading a L2 ride so if you like sand and woops then this is one for you, there may even be sum not very well used trails thrown in but is sure to be testing to the not so fit and perhaps even the slightly fit riders.
Morning loop will be approx 60 km's,, (refuel and lunch back at cars)
Afternoon loop will be approx 60 km's,,
You will need to be bike fit! ,, and yes there will be woops and then there will be more woops..
Regards Will if anyone has any questions then please feel free to call me on 0477690699 or Johnny on 0427760589 or Mat Creasey on 0423877224 after 7.30am but before 9am or after 7pm but before 10pm.
