Title: HTFU-4 Chaynes Bridge 2/3/12 to 4/3/12
Post by: Willbar on December 18, 2011, 10,08:32 AM
Sorry guys my mistake it would have clashed with another club ride which Gary and I have planned, I was getting my weekends mixed up.
Well its on again, by the time March comes around there should be some who will have got a bit soft especially me after so long off the bike and will be needing hardening up once more, so here we go again.

Read this carefully though as there are some requirements to attending this ride.

$30 must be paid to me before the Febuary 10th  so we can pre purchase the T shirts so they can be presented at the end of the ride and also food for Saturday nights dinner.

This one is going to be the biggest with the weekend starting Friday night with camping and pre ride drinks at Cheynes Bridge then the ride will start at 7.30am Saturday morning then there will be a feast on Saturday night and after ride drinks and more camping on Saturday night. Anyone who is not hard enough to come for the whole weekend need not apply to be on the ride.
HTFU number 4. Level clubman ride Cheynes bridge and Walhalla and surrounding areas.

Ok this one will be a full day ride with lunch on the trail and need to carry enough fuel for 180klm .
If you want to know what HTFU means then call me but Numbers are 16 as this is going to be as full on as we can do in this area so not for the faint hearted.

This will still be a very social ride, with a few stops, and lots of socialising before and after the ride and we may even do a small ride Sunday morning if there is enough riders upto it.
You need to book your spot early, or miss out, no late cummers due to having to pre order the T shirts and food for dinner.

Ok for the ride, we need to call it clubman as there will be a few clubman sections, as with all my rides we help each other so we will not leave you behind, we may laugh at you from time to time as others do to me, but it will be all good fun.

This is not a beginners ride but if you have done a few level 2 AMTRA rides with out to much problems and with good pace and you want to have a go at the hard stuff then this is it. This will be typical high country ride with big ups and downs and erosion mounds and rock stair cases thrown it to test your skills.

We meet at the Cheynes Bridge Trail Bike unloading Friday the 2nd of March anytime after 3pm, some may come earlier by choice and thats ok as well.
Rec Reg welcome. Full tank of fuel and some extra to top up on the trails. Plenty of fluid for hydraition. Nothing too easy on this one as the goal is to find the harder stuff and of coarse there will be some disused overgrown tracks thrown in.  With steep ups and downs, rocky staircases and some open trails and as many goat tracks as we can find thrown in.

We should be all packed up, and sitting down for dinner at our campsite by 6pm ,for some serious bench racing and lots of laughs so you will need to bring your personality with u as usual and be prepared for some serous stirring .

Now there is no room for last minute pull outs , u have plenty of time to make plans for the weekend  so no sniffling noses or my wife needs me to help with the housework excuses get the browny points in the bank now and start by buying her something special for chrissy. Some one will have to have died or be about to die to pull out of this without public humiliation .

As far as your bike is concerned I expect you to have extra heavy duty tubes fitted to help avoid punctures , I also expect you to carry enough tools and equipment to dewater your bike and fix a flat tyre. You better make sure your bike is well maintained, we may not leave you out there but we may just leave your bike out there so check your chain and sprockets and spokes and clutch and what ever else you should think should be checked.

If anyone has any special dietary needs HTFU and organise yourself, dinner will be a good old fashion barby etc. Remember to bring your own drinks and brecky and lunch and dinner for Friday night.

Send me a PM if you want to pay direct to my bank account and I will send you the details. Will 0477690699

Oi Will, I thought that we were buying fuel at Rawson, on a second look I see that we have to carry enough fuel for 180 km, you can call me a soft cock if you want, but I'm not going to carry 5 liters off fuel plus 3 liters off water on my back, so sorry mate, I'm pulling the pin on this one.

That's a bummer Will, but I'm glad we can at least fall back to the other ride in its place - count me in!

I've got the Friday off, so I was planning on getting up there early and maybe sample the tracks if there is anyone else there for company.
