Title: Toolangi Ride
Post by: Wade E on August 01, 2009, 01,56:22 PM
I was doing a Eildon - Jamieson on this date but now that has changed to a Toolangi ride for the 9th August. Paul Smith was to lead this ride but cannot due to a lack of bike to ride and Phil is overseas at present. The ride will be a level 1/2 starting at 9.00am on the intersection of Myers Creek road and Monda roads in Toolangi, the same place as Phil has been starting this ride since May. Call Wade 0439991272 or email evo250@inbox.com

Hey mate just wondering if you'll be hitting much challenging single trail etc?  I went on Phils last Toolangi ride and I found it to be much tamer than other rides posted at Level 1/2...

This will be my 2nd time out in 5 years,I think I've got it all together,Tools, tube, spare plug, changed the oil, bike all checked over and tighten each bolt.
Lunch at Narbethong,cool.
Q1..how do the other guys on 2 strokes refuel..do they carry a sachet of oil [100 ml] to tip into the fuel tank,or is there anther tip ?
Thank you for the help..see you guys soon

Timmey,
The guys carry there own oil whatever is their brand to mix in litre quantities. Most carry enough for one or two litres depends on how far the ride is and your fuel consumption.
Most of the two strokers carry a small oil container with markings for the mix or a small plastic measuring cup like a medicine one. Five litres would be plenty extra on Wades ride.
Or you could get a larger fuel tank or a four stroke???

Timmy

Don't let Brad and the other the boys slag off at your 2T.

Many of the clubs better riders are riding 250 and 300 2 Strokes. Even hackers like me have heaps of fun on a 2T.

Cheers

Is Leo coming?

Paul fully believe what is one mans preference may not be anothers and I know I am not capable or riding a two stroke takes more skill. BTW have seen some 2T guys use a babies milk bottle to carry oil in as they have excellent markings on them for measuring the oil,  also they are plastic and well sealed.

If I can ride one so can you! Come to think of it.. I do tend to fall of a bit more than when I rode a 4T ???

Hahaha... :D the guys are ok , I know 2t's are evil , but heaps of fun too. Just reading ADB magazine , 2t's may have more life in them than we all think for the future.
Hope to see you all there on sunday.

Guys on Sundays ride please make sure you bring your bike licence, bike rego, a full fuel tank, some money and a reliable bike. Check your bike and make sure everything is done up and functioning. Nothing worse than a bike you cant ride because of slack maintenence.

It will ALL be in my ride report, the action from Toolangi we had a few standard ride norms, all quickly sorted due to experience and preparation. In short the ride went well and I remember what goes around comes around hence the brother hood!
