Thanks guys for attending today, was a very long ride.
Started around 9.30am and finished at 5.30pm, plus 150K's
Fantastic support form the group of 11 riders was much appreciated. Our fuel concerns were helped out by the DBW folks who generously contributed to the bikes needing fuel
Apologies Cam, we got you're note and did hang around awhile.

WHAT NO RIDE REPORT - Now I feel hard done by.

Was a great adventure , fuel issues , following a crap map , diverse rider group, but we all made it back and so did all the bikes and as usual great bunch of blokes..

Great ride Brad the 150ks might not have been planned but I am sure we will all be better for it next week.

Cheers

Ok. I just cleaned the bike ODO says 155.6 K's and that clay is hard to remove don't leave it on too long or else!
Eleven of us meet at the designated point and waited for the others, also checked the nearby roads to see if anyone has missed the rally point. Mark made a good suggestion to start at DSE Trail Bike park at Limberlost which we did.
Geared up, rider briefing and headed off whereby I got the wrong turnoff and headed into nowhere, from which we emerged, warmed up and back on track. Another wrong turn saw us do a loop and after 10'Ks we were at the bottom of Downey track. Up we go and started to navigate to Reefton Pub.
Mark assisted with map consultation and we kept on track, the hardest bit was near Reefton where the map was useless.
We did a mini Erzberg loop which was a challenge as most rocks were half the size of a football bouncing you all over the place.
Asked another group near Reefton which way, who assisted and got us there before 2pm for BURGERS. It had taken around 90k's and although the trip back was more direct and shorter, fuel was tight for most and four would not make it.
The ride was traveling great no issues with bikes or people only minor off's or moments but FUEL, damm!, so we got close to Warburton to run in and get some fuel when we came across a DBW ride packing up (attended by Pat and Rob). They generously donated fuel and we were on our way with some pace as we now knew we would all make it. A few bikes ran out and were topped up with extra fuel that was carried. Some great tracks on the way home made the trip well worthwhile, with the guys on the gas, no need to conserve fuel now.

Thanks for a great ride and company and to Gary for his tailman duties.

didn't realise there was the DSE Trail Bike park area, spent a fair bit of time driving up boys camp rd and camp creek road at least trying to find the cars - that was really puzzling me! Bumped into some other guys who said there was crew in the DSE Trail Bike park gearing up, but by the time I got there all I heard was exhausts in the distance.

anyway, next time...and on time!
