Noojee forecast for Saturday:
Min of 9 degrees overnight
Max of 18 degrees during the day
Mixed bag of sun, cloud and a few showers clearing.
Typical Melbourne Spring weather!

Bring your UHF radio as I will be on channel 28 on the day and during the ride. It will be turned on from 6am to 6pm.

Does anyone know approx range of a 2010 CRF450x?

I realise this depends on riding style, terrain, etc. but I'm just trying to work out roughly how much extra fuel to bring for the 120kms. I don't believe my stock tank (8.6L) would get me to 120km. Maybe 100km...?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hey George, on the WR450 on moderate throttle I have got 130 km to bone dry. I would expect at least 100 km from the tank and for a 120 km ride I would take 2lt in the back pack to empty into the tank after the first 30km.

On a Level 1/2 ride I would not expect the terrain to demand heavy throttle and to get 120 out of a tank. The extra fuel would just be insurance.

I also get similar on the CRF250X and would do the same.

The other option is to make sure you always ride ahead of the people with big tanks. Grin

Pommy Mat gets 80klm out of his 2011 model in high country style riding but they have a slightly smaller tank than the 2010 model I believe

As previously posted for this ride, don't forget a fuel drop can be arranged at the 70Km mark for those who have fuel concerns or dont want to carry fuel.
Just need a volunteer(s) to drop the cans off and pick them up?
Its a 20min round trip on the tar to the drop point.

Couple of items have come up for me to pass on.
We have a volunteer for the fuel drop be there no later than 8.30 if you want fuel left at the 70km mark.

NOTE the BP servo is on the LHS at Longwarry just before the Drouin turnoff NOT the new one you will pass earlier around Pakenham.

Finally look out for this AMTRA arrow pointing to the entrance of Vesper Rd off the Mt Baw Baw tourist Rd.
This is where we park, will also put one on the car where you sign up for the ride.
Parking will be tight, please make room for others.

     Looks likeI,m going to have to bail on this one, (THE BOSS) has spoken and I,m on kid duty this weekend.  seems like theres no time 4 me to b a kid !!!!! will try 4 the next ride.
