Well its on again, by the time June comes around there should be some who will have got a bit soft and will be needing hardening up once more, so here we go again.
Read this carefully though as there are some requirements to attending this ride.
$20 must be paid to me before or at the April club meeting so we can pre purchase the T shirts so they can be presented at the end of the ride.
Anyone who is not hard enough to come to the pub for dinner after the ride need not come either.
HTFU number 3. Level clubman ride Neerim South.
Ok this one will be a full day ride with lunch on the trail and need enough fuel for 140klm .
If you want to know what HTFU means then call me but Numbers are 18 as this is going to be as full on as we can do in this area so not for the faint hearted.
This will still be a very social ride, with a few stops, and Dinner at the Robin Hood Pub after the ride.
You need to book your spot early, or miss out, no late cummers due to having to pre order the T shirts and book dinner.
Ok for the ride, we need to call it clubman as there will be a few clubman sections, as with all my rides we help each other so we will not leave you behind, we may laugh at you from time to time as others do to me, but it will be all good fun.
This is not a beginners ride but if you have done a few level 2 AMTRA rides with out to much problems and with good pace and you want to have a go at the hard stuff then this is it.
We will do the hard ups and keep having ago until we are up and if the river is down enough we may even get our feet wet.
We meet at the DSE Latrobe River Rd Trail Bike unloading Saturday the 4th of June 8.00am for 8.30am start onto the trails . Rec Reg welcome. Full tank of fuel and some extra to top up on the trails. Plenty of fluid for hydraition. Nothing too easy on this one as the goal is to find the harder stuff and of coarse there will be some disused overgrown tracks thrown in.  With steep ups and downs, rocky staircases and some open trails and as many goat tracks as we can find thrown in.
We should be all packed up, and sitting down in the Robin Hood Pub ,for some serious bench racing and a counter meal by 6pm for dinner.
For the guys who have not been to Neerim before HTFU and find your own way   Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin, look up DSE website and print out the map. contact Will 0414354317

UPDATE
Guys please make sure you get your $20 to me at or before this months general meeting. If you need my bank details just PM me and you can do a direct deposit if that makes it easier for you.

Well after finding that the graders and front end loaders had been busy around Neerim over the last few weeks my self and fellow route planners Frankie, Gary and Pommy Mat ventured out today on our first pre ride of the HTFU-3 route and we are glad to report back the following.
Although sum of our transport sections had been turned into Hwys with erosion mounds, the ruts are starting to reappear very quickly so buy the time June comes around they should be back to there hard self. We have found sum extra shut hot unused overgrown tracks to add into this years route and we have had to take one out, as they have just about maid it impossible to get up with the size of the erosion mounds and the gradient they have added to the hill side but although this one was technically hard to get up the first section it wasn't that long so we may miss it but we will add better ones, we have had to remove one loop track due to having to many big trees down blocking the way.
So far our favorite bogs holes as Frankie and I found out today after going for a big swim in a couple of them remain
untouched.
We took of today at 9am and had to cut the day short due to me and Pommy Mat being on reserve after a lunch refuel we had only done 50 odd klms since refuel and so we headed the long way back with me needing a tow for the last 10klms after running out and arrived back at the cars around 4pm with only 90 odd klms on the speedo. I would suggest that although we may not cover 150klms on the day you should have enough fuel on your bike to cover that many klms, we seemed to use lots on the overgrown tracks and and riding the sticky muddy tracks which are only going to be worse by the time June comes around.
I must apologize to Gary as when I was going through a small mud hole I really had to get on the gas to stop it sucking my bike into it and as Gary was right behind me he look like a black and white minstral impersonator, he looked very stealth as I looked back down the track as he aprouched me from behind.
As usual we had a great day out on the bikes and must thank my 3 helpers for there efforts and ideas, HTFU-3 is looking like one to remember and would not be so without the help of these 3 guys. Thanks guys.

Only 4 more sleep guys but who's counting, been busy in the shed for the last few nights, and the bike is done. Remember to have a good rear tyre if possible. Remember to check your chain and sprockets and brakes. When I went to fit a new chain on Sunday, I was looking for the lock clip on the con link and could not find it, not sure how long it has been missing but glad I decided to change the chain for this ride. Remember guys good preparation should help you have a good day on the trails. C Ya Saturday Will
