Would like to attend a general meeting but it's a hell of a long drive on a weeknight..(even with spring rolls!)I'll get someone to fill me in on the next ride, especially the 2010 HCR and what help is needed as I have that weekend off.
Maybe we should have one at Sorrento Hotel on a saturday arvo!?! Grin

Just joined your website the other day and am curious to know how I can find out what designates your riding level for the posted rides. I have'nt paid up as a member yet but am interested in joining. I mostly ride around Bright, Wandiligong, Harietville, Yackandandah and Beechwoth and am looking to ride in new locations. I have family in Bright and Beechworth (grew up in Wandiliong) and am now living on the Mornington Peninsula. Ride 08 WR450. Any help/information/comments would be appreciated.

Justin,

AMTRA rides are graded at 4 different levels.

Level 1 - For riders with little or no trail riding skills. Lots of assistance and an easy pace.

Level 2 - For riders with skill levels above those of a beginner and usually easy rides with lots of
assistance given. Pace and terrain usually a bit more than a Level 1 ride.

Clubman - For riders with average skills and the ability to cope with most terrain and bike repairs
(Punctures, broken levers etc). Assistance given if required.

Experienced - For riders with the ability to cope with all terrain with little or no help unless asked for.
Experienced grade rides usually cover long distances and/or multiple days.

Contact the ride leader for further information on a particular ride.

Sounds like you would be fine on a level 2 ride as a good starting point to gauge your own ability. I have a ride at Cobaw on 31st Jan you would be welecome to come along to.

Mat.

Mat,

thanks for the information and invitation. That weekend is not good for me. Wifes birthday and sister in-law visiting from Sydney. I will look for another level 2 ride that fits and contact the lead rider if that is o.k.
