I got a phone call this evening from Geoff Lynch from Glenmaggie CFA. On the weekend of October 3rd and 4th there is an information weekend for bush users being run by the CFA in the Glenmaggie area. This is to promote fire awareness and responsible bush use in the area. I am looking for volunteers who would be prepared to travel for the weekend and set up the AMTRA tent with some information about AMTRA similar to what has been done before at the Landrover Owners club field days etc. The event will run from about 10-4 on Saturday and from 10-1 on Sunday. Glenmaggie CFA can provide free accommodation for Saturday night as well as a free BBQ and bush band for Saturday night. This would probably need only 2 committed AMTRA members who would like to help out. Other groups involved are DSE, CFA, Police, SES Nissan 4wd club and groups concerned with the lake management and boating. This would be a great opportunity to promote AMTRA in an area we have not ridden in much lately. Please let me know if you are interested and able to put together a stand for the AMTRA involvement.
