Title: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Tim Dykes on July 02, 2011, 12,10:13 PM After missing a year it's back on again.
Weekend at the club property at Abbeyard, a ride going out each day. I'd call the riding around Abbeyard level 2. Breakfast for both days and dinner (Megga Webber) catered for at around $25 a head. Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Robert James Crisp on July 02, 2011, 01,07:15 PM Yes please x 2
Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Tim Dykes on July 02, 2011, 01,22:01 PM Yes please x 2 I almost started a list with you + one on it but I thought I'd see how long it took you two to get on board... less than an hour and it was put up at 10:10pm on a Saturday night :o ;) Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: David Smith on July 03, 2011, 12,09:56 AM I should be good to come up that weekend

Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Tim Dykes on July 03, 2011, 08,41:17 AM Yes please Tim - Refresh my memory, is this near your birthday? Yes Ken, the first one was 2005, 40. I'm fairly sure it's been run every year apart from last year. From 2005 (http://www.vinamtra.com.au/forum/gallery/18_03_07_11_4_23_58_0.JPG) (http://www.vinamtra.com.au/forum/gallery/18_03_07_11_4_23_58_1.JPG) And from 2006, do you remember this Ken? (http://www.vinamtra.com.au/forum/gallery/18_03_07_11_4_26_17.JPG) This one also from the same weekend may look familiar! Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Ken R on July 04, 2011, 03,02:59 AM So on which day do we sing "happy birthday"?
The amazing thing about the upside down ute was that they got the 2 bikes off the back while it was still upside down, if I remember correctly, and rode them on the weekend - unbebloodylievable!! I can almost taste that red Tim. Hey Thomo - are you going on holiday for 6 - 7 months? Nobody does that - do they? Pee Air - "bid a big bore to the Husky" Please Explain? Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Ken R on July 06, 2011, 11,31:48 PM Hey Rowen are you really racing or just another track day?
Tim - have you finished something in your shed to go racing with? Can we go to the 9/9/2006 lookout again? Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Tim Dykes on July 07, 2011, 10,37:19 AM Tim - have you finished something in your shed to go racing with? Can we go to the 9/9/2006 lookout again? Ken the day we sing happy birthday is not on that weekend. As for racing, every weekend is a race to try and get done the thing I hope to do, I don't often win! This weekend I hope to have a good weekend I should get that done. We'll have to see how the weather is that weekend Ken to see if we can get to the top of Gunn’s track where we were on 9/9/2006. It's well over 1600m up there and there might be some white stuff trying to stop us, but that could be fun too. Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Pilot399 on July 08, 2011, 10,36:03 AM Hi Tim

Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Phil Randall on August 12, 2011, 06,52:20 AM 2006 Hmm ! It seems longer!.
Tweedle dee and Tweedle dum had a pretty miraculous escape. If they had been 20 feet earlier they would have been down in the creek. Paul Smith and Peter Develee and some others were responsible for getting the bikes out by removing the wheels, in the rain and upside down. Tweedle Dee went on to crash badly on the Cobbler track the following day. Ted and myself remained to keep him company and get assistance. We enlisted Cameron Stewart and Willie Graham to pick him up, but they got hopelessly bogged on the cobbler track. It was almost dark when we finally got a 4 wheel with real tyres to pick him up and take him to Wangaratta hospital. The following evening I took Tweedle Dum back to Melbourne with all their gear. It was a great weekend there should be more of them. Phil R. Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Ken R on August 12, 2011, 08,35:58 AM Tim - just checking on whats in the cupboards of the new shed? Cutlery, crockery, pots n pans, will the stove and BBQ be active, how about lights and fire wood and tools in the shed???
Cheers Title: Re: Tim's Abbeyard weekend Post by: Tim Dykes on August 12, 2011, 09,36:08 AM Tim - just checking on whats in the cupboards of the new shed? Cutlery, crockery, pots n pans, will the stove and BBQ be active, how about lights and fire wood and tools in the shed??? Cheers In a word Ken, Yes! Apart from the fire wood, last time I was there I left some undercover in the firewood shelter that's just above the wood pile, if it's been used and not replaced then the only wood is what's not covered. Oh, and cold refreshment! Looks like the weather will be good for us, possible snow down to 1700m Friday and a few showers, Saturday and Sunday both mostly sunny ;) The river is a problem ??? Bit of water up there this week but we'll still get in a good ride going out the top end of the valley. I hope to be there 5 ish, just to ensure Ken is does not get out of hand. |
