Life is too short to muck around with a tyre that is clearly past its use by time. They don't cost a fortune but a good tyre can be the difference between a great day out and a bugger of a day. Having said that, much of the riding in the Eildon area where peter usually goes is rocky in parts and gravelly in most places. Generally a new tyre is not essential in the wet there, but why bugger up a great day out with a tyre that should be off to the re-cycle place. Get a new one!

Do yourself a favor and buy a Bridgestone M404 rear.
I can sell you a tyre for $95.00

Yea the plan is to replace with a Bridgestone M404, reviews are good.  Riding around near home on harder ground, hills and some mud (when I can find it) has been fine.  As I've never been to Eildon I just not sure if a little bit of rain turns the place into a mud bath.  Dennis's description of Eildon in the wet sounds good, thanks for the heads up.  The original forecast was for fine weather so was never a concern, just thought it was worth checking to be safe.  Will replace if I can book it in tomorrow unless I have to head insterstate.  Thanks again.

Hey Peter and crew, thanks for a great outing, well organised.  Sorry I slowed things down in the afternoon, those steep hills were a bit daunting for my first ever forest outing, but I learnt heaps for next time.

I have a few photos but aren't able to upload them, if someone sends me their e-mail address then i'll forward them on so they can be posted up
