Title: Ride Calendar. Post by: Phil Randall on August 14, 2012, 12,08:11 AM With so much support I simply ave to continue. The next The next Cruisy Ride will be Sunday the 9th of September.
Same place, Same time. This is a level 1 to 2 ride, with emphasis on Level 1. All are welcome and I will do what I can to chose the tracks that are best suited for the group. Directions. Take the Marysville road from Narbathong, travel exactly 2 km, and you will cross the Acheron River Bridge, and you are there. Go to the end of the safety rail and turn hard left down onto the river bank. Note the parking area is a CFA filling point and we need to keep the access open. 8.30 for 9.00 am start. For the early birds, I hope to be in the coffee shop at the supermarket in Healesville at about 7.30 Phil Randall. 0408 370 764 Title: Re: Ride Calendar. Weather report says a few showers Saturday, and clear on Sunday. This is a level 1-2 ride and beginners are welcome and will be encouraged as much as I can. Please don't be shy, this is your day. See you all on Sunday, Phil r. Title: Re: Ride Calendar. Post by: deanp on September 04, 2012, 11,37:00 AM Hi Phil,
Whats the plans for lunch? As I have rec reg. I am ok to hang back at the cars with a sandwich etc.... Dean. Title: Re: Ride Calendar. Post by: Phil Randall on September 05, 2012, 07,38:30 AM I anticipate we will go into Marysville for lunch . The sandwich brigade will probably sit it out at the creek crossing. If the plans change we will work it out accordingly. Plans for the afternoon are roughly dependent of those present.
Hope that is cryptic enough ;D ;D Phil r. Title: Re: Ride Calendar. Post by: Antman on September 05, 2012, 08,32:45 AM Hi Phil,

It's slippery red clay but no big hills. It's one of the easiest rides I have done but it's a fun ride! Great place to practice in slippery conditions ... not that easy grippy stuff you have over your side of town lol :) Cheers Yazza Title: Re: Ride Calendar. Post by: Glennboy on September 08, 2012, 10,18:46 AM There is some grippy bits in between the slippery bits from memory so don't be too concerned and you will get plenty of help along the way and opportunities to bail early if it all gets too much.

Post by: paulmilo on September 10, 2012, 01,27:25 AM Thanks Phil and tailman Mark, or was that thanks Mark and tailman Phil as you guys seemed happy to mix it up a bit.
Best ride yet, I particularly liked the fact that Phil swapped leader roles with Mark just before he promptly sent the group up the 'Rocky Garden(?)' only to stop and turn around himself. A few made it all the way..a few including myself didn't - but enjoyed the challenge nonetheless. Also big thanks to Mark and the two others (sorry - don't have all the names) for helping me extract my DR650 'pig' from the last rise in the 'Rocky Garden' once my clutch gave up and told me you can just 'Go F&$k Yourself'. Well organised Phil - & always good fun. Notable quotes: * Phil: 'Yeah - just a one hour loop' [3 hrs later...] * Mark: 'This is the worst of it - flat fire trails from here' ... [stated just before we turned a bend and found the next 1km vertical rise of rocks and mud!!!...] Cheers ;D, Milo |
