Something different.  A ride through the open dry eucalypt forest in the historic gold mining area of the Fryers Ranges.
The tracks are often old, stony and winding.  It is hilly country but with nothing very steep.  Lunch will be on the trail.  You’ll need fuel for 100ks but we’ll probably do 80 to 90 due to winding trails.
Take the exit to Castlemaine at Elphinstone.  Drive 3 kilometres from the Calder Freeway exit; turn left onto Railway Dam Track just past Tunnel Hill track.  It is hard to spot so slow down or you may overshoot it.
Plan to arrive by at least 8:30 for a 9 o’clock start.  Allow 1 hour travelling time to the start point from the city end of the Tullamarine Tollway. Should finish about 4pm Len Rhodes 0429 185 852

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - throttle in the other - body thoroughly used up,totally worn out and screeming what a ride

I have no problem with your rec reg as I have the same! I'm fairly sure the whole ride will be rec reg legal.

Yes, you can bring your friend along as an intro to what the club offers. Bike must have some form of rego, have lights on it and be reasonably well muffled......the WELLer the BETTER as riding past some farmland and would like to stay as friends!!
