Title: Chaynes Bridge 2 Huggetts Crossing Sunday 12/6/11 Post by: Willbar on April 29, 2011, 01,49:19 AM This will be a new ride for most and and old ride for some. On Sunday the 12th of June we will meet at the Chaynes Bridge DSE unloading area at 8.00am to be on the bikes for 8.30am.
You will need to carry fuel for 140klm and lunch will be on the trail. It will be Level 2 and if wet possibly clubman. We will be going up and down hills, crossing creaks and possibly a river crossing or 2. The trails will be mainly fast flowing but should be typical South East Vic High Country stuff. I will lead the ride but Ted Hemmingway and Frankie Reefman will be our guides for the day. This will be a very social ride with frequent regroups and rest stops and help will be given were required , remember to pack your sense of humour as with most of my rides there is always a laugh to be had , and it may be even at you ;D ;D ;D ;D If the weather permits some of us may camp there for the long weekend, but if it is to misrable then I would suggest some warm pub on the way home for some tucker. If you've never done a high country ride before and you are a capable level 2 rider then this would be a good one for you to do. Just remember to bring tools to suit your bike including a spark plug spanner incase we need to dewater it and a spare front tube as the terain will be rocky. Infact it may be a good idea to make sure that you have ultra heavy duty tubes already fitted to your bike to lesson your chance of a puncture. The plan is to head to Huggetts Crossing and then head back taking in as many different tracks and trails along the way as we can. The pace should be around 40 klm to 60klm per hour. The goal will be to be back at the cars around 4pm. Remember your cameras as there should be some good photo oportunity's. There will be a limit of 25 spots on this ride so get in quick or miss out. Please note that the ride is the official AMTRA event, the camping is not, it is just a bunch of friends and family taking an opportunity to socialise and camp out and my AMTRA friends are welcome to join in. If you need more info please either PM me or just give me a call on 0414354317. Will 1. 2. Ted Hemmingway Shared Ride guide 3. Gary Clarke Shared Tailman dutys 4. Mat Creasy Shared Tailman dutys 5. If you've never ridden in the high country before, & you would like to, then don't miss this ride, nothing to hard & as Will said, there will be plenty of laughs, as always.

On Sunday the 12th of June we will meet at the Chaynes Bridge DSE unloading area at 8.00am to be on the bikes for 8.30am. guys I have just had 1 cancellation for this ride, who wants the spotYou will need to carry fuel for 140klm and lunch will be on the trail. Sorry to hear mate, sound a bit like when I bought a 600cc LC4 KTM in 1987. I thought the handling was so good that I could do anything with it & tackle everything in my path ...wrong...I was going up a rutted hill,as I was going up in 3rd gear if my memory serves me right, it looked better on the right hand side, with the great handling of this bike I'll just motor across the ruts to the other side, cutting across the ruts it spat me off ??? I was lucky I didn't hurt myself. Yeah it was the first ride on the new bike ;D Title: Re: Chaynes Bridge 2 Huggetts Crossing Sunday 12/6/11 Post by: Darren lynch on June 07, 2011, 06,50:20 AM Hi guys dickhead c ya on the next oneI have to pull out this weekend took my new ride klx450 for a spin on sunday at Tynong :) and got spat off and fractured my right tibia :'(.But on the bright side she goes realy well and no damage to the bike ;D ;D ;D.
