Level 1/2 ride Tanjil and Moondarra State Forests.
As there have not been to many of these type of rides for a while I thought I should put one on.

If you are new to AMTRA this sort of ride is the perfect way of working out your ability's and some times lack of ability's.

For the more experienced trail bike riders there may not be any real challenge here, just a good blast around some long fast flowing tracks, but for the newby's or people with less experience it might be a different story.

The terrain is a good mix of Sand, rocky, clay, dirt with some mountains to climb but with gentle rise and falls and only a couple of steep ups and downs but of coarse help will be on hand to either pick u up or give some well needed advice.

You need to make sure you come on a reliable bike and if I or Gary check your bike and think it may give us some grief and spoil everyone else's day then we will tell you to go home. Just the same I expect you to have a current license or learners permit and be riding a registered bike either rec reg or full reg. I also expect you to have helmet and gloves and have a fully clothed body and appropriate foot ware on for riding a motor cycle. You will also need at least 2 to 3 litres of alcohol free refreshments and some snacks to have along the way.

So perhaps a camel back and back pac might be a good idea. You will also need at least 1 spare front tube and tyre leavers incase you get a flat tyre. It might be a good idea to make sure that you have at least heavy duty tubes fitted to your bike to help avoid flat tyres and a good starting tyre pressure is around 14psi.

Remember to bring enough tools to enable the removal of your wheels and spark plug, so this may mean having tools to remove the seat and petrol tank etc.
And of coarse you will need a full tank of fuel.

Ok for the ride, this is a beginners ride so if you are more experienced rider I would expect you to help the less experienced were required. Meeting point is on the Moe Walhalla Rd opposite Wild Cow Track, Meeting 7.00am for 8.00am start, Saturday the 17th of March and back 2 the cars for 12.30. Rec Reg welcome.  Plenty of fluid for hydraition. Nothing too hard a nice cruisy ride with a few small steep ups and downs but mainly open trails.

The numbers are limited to 25 so if you put your name on the list please only do so if you are a starter for sure as I would hate for some one to miss out cause someone put there name on the list and then did not turn up. Also bare in mind what the weather could be like, Hot , which is why it is only a morning ride.

As with most AMTRA rides there will be a first aid bum bag and epirb along on the ride and at least one trained first aider.

Up the long ladder,
and down the short rope.
To hell with King Billy,
and God bless the Pope.
And if that doesn't do,
Tear 'em in two.
And tell 'em what to do,
with their Red White and blue.

Anon!.
