Any one interested in a dawn to dusk ride this Saturday 13/08/2011. The distance will be upwards of 500klms 75% dirt 25% bitchy. 7.30am meet time at Gembrook bakery for 8.00am start. Gembrook - Nooje - Woods Point - Kevington Hotel for lunch - Mt Terrible - Big River - Cumberland Junction - Warburton - Melbourne. You will need 200klm fuel range and refuel is avail at Woods Point Hotel, however it is over $2.00 per litre.

We will be covering some 4wd tracks around Woods Point and Mt Terrible, however there are other alternatives if you are not overly confident in the rough stuff or you have a large adv bike. Majority of tracks run parallel with main 2wd roads and trust me we are talking wide smooth sandy granite twisty fun roads, so don't feel that you need to be Mr Motorcross to come along on this ride. I will be riding a Ktm 990 Adv with a balding front knobby, therefore even the tracks we will be riding are not to difficult, however a little off road experience will be required if you choose the track option. I can guarantee there will be no river crossings as last time i was in the area i drowned my bike.

This ride will be long, however if you are looking for a cruisy gravel road morning ride you can exit the ride at Woods Point and cruise back to Cumberland Junction - Warburton etc.

Depending on track conditions and rider capability incl my average self, there may be changes on the day, so come with a sense of humor.

Get of the computer and prep your bike, because this ride will be S... Hot.

Give me a buzz for more details Russell 0466 - 772 630.

Yeah i know this ride is a little different.

Russell,

Sounds like a great ride.  I won't make it but I'd like to give it a go another time.  I hope you get lots of support from the club and that such a ride becomes a feature in the calendar.

Good luck!

Thanks for your posts, i will try and give more notice next time i organize one of these rides.

Sunday is a possibility as well, weather looks promising for Sat and Sunday. If i get a few hands in the air for Sunday i may change it to a Sunday ride.

Let me know if your interested.
