Level 1 Training ride Neerim South.
Ok this one is aimed at Level 1 riders or anyone who wants to hone the skills or anyone who wants to come along and pass along there riding knowledge. The day will consist of riding to some of the Neerim hills and practicing going up and down with instructors standing by to answer any of your questions or direct you in the best possible way to ride your bike up or down. We will then head off and find some bog hole's and teach you the best way to get around or thru them. Our aim is not to put you in danger but rather teach you how to stay out of danger. We will talk about rider position, bike set up, clutch control and safety equipment.
We will try to get most of it done in the morning ride and then head back 2 the cars for lunch and fuel top up and then maybe tackle some of the slightly harder stuff in the afternoon.
This is a very social ride, with plenty of stops, and time for stories and laugh's.
non members are welcome and bikes must be registered, Rec reg is fine for this ride.
If you want 2 attend this ride I need to know sooner than later so I can organise our trainers also when booking your spot please tell me if you are coming to learn or teach.
We meet at the DSE Latrobe River Rd Trail Bike unloading Sunday the 13th of June 8.am for a 8.30am start onto the trails and back for lunch then back out again and finish up around 4 to 4.30pm. Rec Reg welcome. Full tank of fuel for each session. Plenty of fluid for hydration and trail snacks and some cold beer for your trainers after the riding has finished.
These sort of rides do not happen to often so if you are just starting out or maybe coming back to the sport after a break book your spot early and do not miss out.

If your coming and for directions(see attached Latrobe TVA map)
For the guys who have not been to Neerim before I will meet you at the East bound BP on Princes Hwy at Long Warry for 7.15am for a 7.30am departure from the BP. Note I will be parked at the rear of the servo in the truck parking bays. The servo is around 15 minutes past the last Pakenham turn off and it is just inside the 80klm speed zone. contact Will 0414354317

For the folks who are coming along for training please ensure you have your bike set up well including Extra Heavey Duty Tubes front and back, 12psi in your tyres, check your sprocket's and chain, Gearing 13 tooth on front and around 50 teeth on the rear is a good starting point. As we will be training on some steep hills it may be a good idea to carry out a brake fluid change and a clutch fluid chage if you have a hydraulic clutch on your bike. Whilst doing your brake fluid change and blead make sure your pads still have good life left in them.
Make sure your air filter is clean and drain your carby fuel bowl and fill with nice fresh 98octane fuel in the tank but leave this to just a few days before as fuel go's off quickly and can cause problems if too old.
You might as well fit a new sprk plug whilst you are at it or if yours is not that old buy one for your back pack anyway.
Make sure you have the right tools in your back pack to fix a flat tyre so a spare 21inch front tube which we can use in a push to fix a rear flat, two tyre leavers and a pump to re inflate your tyre, correct spannner to undo the axles on your bike and a spark plug spanner and spanners and screw drivers and allen keys etc to fit most of the bolts and nuts and screws on your bike. It is a good idea to do a pre ride spanner check on your bike to get an idea on what tools you will need. A spanner check means checking all the bolts and screws ect are done up tight enough not to fall out on a ride.
We will be scruitenering your bikes before we start and if your bike is to bad then you may be told to go home so please make sure it is right before the day. We are here to help you but not to do a major service on your bike, that is your responsability.
Remember your hydration and trail snacks and your lunch and fuel to top up your tank at lunch time.
Also remember your protective gear eg Body Armour, riding pants and shirt, boots gloves helmet and goggles and a light jacket , not to heavy on the jacket cause even if it is raining and cold you will not be cold once you are on the move.
If you have any questions on any of the above please just send me a personal message or a text. Will

Hello
I've just joined AMTRA and would like to come along for 13 June Training Day at Neerim Sth. I have been riding a little here and there but have been riding a road bike for many years.
Could you please book a place for me or direct me as to how I may do so.
with regards
