I think its time to leave this alone.
If anyone has a real problem with the way this ride is happening i urge you to Ring/E-Mail/PM one of the committee members (me included) and we can address this and make a decision about the setup of this ride.
Before you do please re-read the first post regarding the ride as it might answer your questions.
Many amtra rides involve money, It can be a fine line with backup drivers getting $$ for fuel and wear and tear on there car to someone getting a free room from the pub for bringing 10 people for the night.
I do not believe any amtra member is out to profit from putting on rides.
I think it would be very hard to.
Happy Riding
Can you come on this ride without paying $20? I don't really need another t-shirt.
Sorry mate no t shirt no pub then no ride.
It's not the money, it's the fact that the conditions for participating in this ride are not in the normal AMTRA sprit.
You must buy the shirt, you must go to the pub, and if you don't then Will doesn’t want to know about you.
AMTRA is about the ride...
I hope these T-shirts dont have AMTRA on them anywhere because I dont think this ride is a true ride in the AMTRA sprit.
How good is this, this is what is so good about being involved in a club that operates in a democrasy, everyone is entilted to there own opions and vote accordingly, which is what has happened with this ride, there is 21 spots available on this ride, and 16 AMTRA members, voted to go on this ride, as set out in the ride description, yes the T shirts will have the AMTRA logo on them, as it is an AMTRA ride.
It is so good to be involved in a envolving world, and at times we must all embrace change, or we will get stuck in the dark ages and just fade away into the darkness.
The group of people in AMTRA which I am involved in, is a very social group, and anyone is welcome to join in on these social activities, if you fit the criterior of the particular event being run.
The Harden the Fook Up ride is not just about the ride, but about the whole day, it is about the social interaction of club members throughout the day, helping and supporting each other and encouraging each of us to be better riders, and doing things which may be out of our comfort zone.
It will then be finished of with a celebration social dinner, where we can all celebrate our achievements of the day, and we will all go away with a Trophy T shirt to remember the day by.
It may not fit into what you think is a good AMTRA spirit Tim, but it certainly fits into what I think is a good AMTRA spirit, Social Interaction with Like Minded People. Will
