Depends when you were thinking of going. I am good 9, 10 & 11 of March if that was about the time you were thinking.

Dave, was planning on going up on Thursday with the kids. If there are any maintainence/repair jobs that anyone one can think of, please list them so I can bring any tools that may be needed.

there have been about 20 trees dropped, so there will be plenty of clean up work in that respect to be done.

As for building maintenance style jobs, Im not sure what is needed other than,
  • Finish building the kitchen.
  • Sort out some sort of better wash up/cooking area design.

Several steps leading down to the showers need replacing with pine sleepers.

The light pole that holds the 2 spotlights down near the showers has rotted out at the base and needs replacing/proping up with star pickets.

I should be free to head up on Thursday. Can bring a chainsaw, but needs the generator to run it.

2400 long t pine sleepers are $14 for 200mmx50mm and $23 for 200mmx75mm. A new light pole would be about $50 for 6m length + bags concrete. So for about $180 I can fix 4 steps and replace pole. Do we need 50mm or 75mm thick sleepers?

50mm will be fine, we need to look at a few more steps while we are at it, both down to the showers and we need to do those steps from between the sheds that go up to the flat sites above the sheds. We'll also need some type of stake for them also but saying that I'm sure there will be enough star pickets we can cut to do the job up there.

Steps above the shed are a great idea, but I will not be able to carry that many sleepers with 3 bikes already on the trailer. I will get 4 sleepers to do existing step repair and a new light pole near showers.

You should bring your own. Don't want to crash and burn the club BBQ. :P

Trying to get up for Thursday. Should have room for a sleeper or two on the trailer.

Some more star pickets would be good to have there. We did seem to run out a bit when trying to section off areas. I can bring these as well.

Looking at the weather for next weekend, this is Wangaratta's forecast

Wednesday Sunny                Max  35  Min 16
Thur       Sunny                          34      16
Fri        Sunny                            36      16
Sat    Shower or two developing.     34      17

I don't like Abbeyard when it's hot like that; no fun at all to work in that heat and the rain isn't due till the last night.

Dave any idea of what days you'll do the pre rides, I can only get there for part of the weekend. I'm trying to work it so I can get there for the day of the Saturday pre ride, so I'd like to know which day that is so I can aim for it. That being said Saturday would be the best for me. The other day I'll (probably Sunday) work there, I'll have a fair bit of space in the trailer if anything needs to be taken up there.

Not sure on when the rides will be yet but ill decide maybe tuesday night once the forecast is a bit closer.

Your right it will be very hot up there.

Im thinking some work in the morning followed by swimming in the river then once it cools a bit we might head out for the smaller sunday loop.

its only about 120 klm so we could head off at 5 even. pending on who is coming on the ride.

Ill post some more info up on tuesday night.

Im not interested in overworking myself or anyone else in the heat.

im sure over the 4 days we will get a lot done.

Me and al will be getting there about lunch time on thursday.

we could even do the sunday loop thursday arvo and then do the sat loop on the saturday when the change is coming..

Tim do you know the hours of the porepunkah servo?

Fuel is at the general store at Porepunkah so it should be okay.

Ok heres a update for this weekend,

General working bee with priority on,
Tree cleanup.
Repairing steps for the showers.
Mowing the lawn's and wippersniping.
Assessing condition of the minibike track.
Course Pre-Rideing.
Compiling a list of anything else that is required to be done for the hcr.

Course's will be pre ridden this weekend. Thursday arvo and saturday are the expected days for the pre-rides.
Thusday arvo will be the shorter loop.
Note:You will need fuel to do 120-130klm for the thursday loop, but you can leave fuel 10km down the track so you wont need to carry any.

Saturday will be the longer loop
Note:You will need fuel to do 120-130klm for the Saturday loop.

Extra Loop

Unsure of km's for this loop i think about 120km???
it has optional pullout parts if you running low on fuel - they would take off 70 or 20 km ????? about ???

Bring plenty of water its going to be a hot weekend.
Hat, Sunnys, Sun screen.

Im not your mum its just a reminder  ;D

Everything subject to change at any time  :)
