Hows this for a plan?
Sat 8th Dec Leave from my place (Johnsonville), 150kms to refuel at Gelantipy, then sth to Jacksons crossing, and ending up at Bellbird Pub for the Night. A bit of uncharted territory in this section but will try and find something interesting.(TRUST ME)..
Sun 9th Dec. Shorter day keeping sth of Highway as much as possible, Refuel at Orbost and back to cars early arvo.
WARNINGS-----1.Anything up to 8kms of Black stuff to tie things together.
                       2. Carry your own overnight bag.(If I get a few starters then might organise a support vehicle).
                        3.Am going to invite Ben.(thats if he really does own a WR450).

PS Att Shane....If Ive stuffed this up would you please rectify.....

Hey Wes is this the same ride you did with big Al last year? If so count me in. Sound like i might need a 15 litre tank, i just need to justify the cost with a ride like yours  :lol:

Wade, the ride you mention was a 4 day camp out job(2 15litre tanks needed for that one). This time round thought Id swap 350 extra kms for a hot shower, dry bed, cooked tea and a cold beer or 5. A fair bit of the same tracks will be covered but we just dont venture so far north.

Tim, what temp do you think would be a fair thing, and while Im at it would you prefer the cool breeze from the sthwest or more of an easterly?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

I find that about 20 dec C is about the temp that suits me best.

Wes make the days 20 deg C, overcast but not muggy and make sure you get it to rain the Thursday and Friday before but no rain for the ride.

Wes a 2day with hot showers and cold beers sounds good to me, and I ordered 15l tank today. Just got to convince the wife to let me go now! Some things never change.

Notice Date 7-12-07
Please be advised that the above mentioned ride shall be held as a PRE-RIDE for an upcoming ride to be held at some point in the future. As a PRE-RIDE it must therefore be noted that any distances are approximates only. The ride leader is not to be held accountable for any blowout in kilometers travelled. Even in the event that the total distance might end up to be in excess of 558kms(GPS) or 601Kms(KTM) for the weekend.(Hey Guys, whats a few extra kms between friends.)

The Ride leader also reserves the right to appoint a sub-ride-leader as he seems fit(eg. Brother Bill--Alias Chuck Norris.) Even if the appointy does have a tendency to throw it away in places or even have trouble on certain climbs.(rooftop quote-"very steep, carry a winch")

It must also be stated that if the Snowy is at a level of 1Meter or above that any asistance deemed necessary shall be given forthwith to ensure that the ride leader along with the Mothership (640 adventure) pass safely through Jacksons Crossing. Even if this means Alex and the submersed 450 are left to there own devises.

Furthermore, due to a severe shortage of cranes in the area, if any rider happens across the Mothership in an inverse position, no matter how often, help is to be at hand forthwith.

It is foreseen that special notice should be given as follows
Wade (KTM450){New 15 Litre tank and used every drop.}
Tim    (Husky somethingorother) {I thought u said 150 to lunch}
Shane(KTM Buzzbox) {Excuse me Al, have u a spare litre}
