Title: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Mat R on January 27, 2009, 10,08:20 PM Working bee over the long weekend to do general maintenance on the block in preparation for the HCR 09.
More details to come. Opportunities for some riding are expected, but the focus will be getting the property ready for HCR. Mat R. I would like to help with the working bee on the 7/8TH March . Where is the abbeyyard clubhouse ? What do i bring / what are we doing on that weekend. Looking farward to riding with other riders and need to get some saddle time with new bike before June ride to Finke desert race (spectator/tourist) . Can't wait for end of May . Hope i can help on the weekend Many thanks Zane.Lorimer (zoro) Title: Re: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Tim Dykes on February 18, 2009, 12,34:03 PM Where is the abbeyyard clubhouse ? AMTRA's property at Abbeyard is in the Victorian High Country about 50 km south of Myrtleford on the Buffalo river. The riding from there is some of the best you'll get in Victoria. It's about a 4 hr trip from Melbourne. No problems that you can't make the coming working bee weekend. Coming to the next one is fine. Even if you have not come to any other AMTRA rides or activities you are still welcome to volunteer at the HCR, which is a great way to meet lots of the members. Regards Mat. Worked last one , what do we need ? digging, mowing, spraying, cleaning ?? What are we upto. Will anyone be at abbeyard Friday night. Many thanks Zane ;D Title: Re: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Tim Dykes on March 02, 2009, 11,13:09 AM I hope to be there mid Friday but saying that it allways ends up about being about 4 when I get there. Title: Re: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Mat R on March 04, 2009, 11,06:14 PM Main activitiy will be to clear the camping areas, using the mower and slasher the club has aquired.
Most tools needed will be there. A chainsaw would be handy if anyone has one they are willing to bring. Will also be going through the shed to stocktake HCR equipment. Apart from that, plan for a ride on Sunday afternoon and a few beers on Sunday evening. Food is self catered. Title: Re: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Tim Dykes on March 05, 2009, 06,39:06 AM Food is self catered. So unlike past working bees at the property for the HCR where the club has put on at least one meal and drinks for the people who make the effort and give their time we now have to also have feed ourselves for the whole weekend ??? So what is the club offering as an incentive for the people who give up their time and money for the weekend! Title: Re: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Serge C on March 05, 2009, 06,42:24 AM Tim, I'll shout you a sandwich if you wanna swing past here one afternoon! Title: Re: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Paul Lacy on March 05, 2009, 07,25:00 AM Tim will need alot more than a sandwich. I've seen how much he eats!! ;D
Title: Re: Abbeyard/HCR working bee Post by: Mat R on March 05, 2009, 11,27:31 AM The HCR will supply drinks on Sunday night. I don't have numbers of who is going - I think about 10 from the last GM.
If there is interest I will arrange for a BBQ meal on Sunday night for after a ride. I won't be riding so can go into Myrtleford for supplies. How does that sound? BTW - I have no bike so will not be putting a ride on over the weekend. And maybe I will bring along a plate of sandwiches. Mat. |
