The much anticipated entry forms for the much anticipated Harrow Vinduro, have been released!

Open to all pre-'85 bikes, the Harrow International is the 'must do' event of the Vinduro calendar.  Interest is high, so get in quick if you want to be part of this great event.

Wade, Michael (his son) and myself will be making up Team AMTRA.  3 more people can make up Team AMTRA 2.  The sooner you get you entry in, the more likely we'll be to starting together.

I've sent an email to the organisers to see if I'm allowed to compete on the TT600.

Even though it is configured as a 1983 model, the compliance plate says 1988, so I'll understand it if they want to keep it 'pure'.

And of course, I'll also need to have it up and running again before then...  :D

Yep this is the big one for vinduro riders for the year and promises to be bigger and brighter than previous years with addition of state verses state trophy teams all competing for the honour of most laps completed and bragging rites for the next 12 months, all in fun of coarse.
The town of Harrow welcomes vinduro riders and boasts a pub, café, camping ground and most important of all awesome riding. So if you have a pre 85 dirt bike come and have a go!

You should be fine as your model is a follow on.

I've been given the okay to run it if I put the drum brake front end on it.

That sounds alright, if you're prepared to do it.

Some of these rules are a little 'over-the-top'!  It's not as though there's massive prize money up for grabs and you have an un-fair advantage.  But rules are rules and they're set to keep the feeling 'real', so up to you.

But I wouldn't miss it for quids!

Disconnect the front brake then, be just as effective as the drum brake.

Do you still have the drum brake setup? If an 84 IT front wheel and drum brake fits I can lend you one.

Thanks for the offer Mat, but I have an '83 model TT600 twin leading shoe drum brake front end that I picked up recently. Just need to find a bit of time to give it a refresh, and then it can be fitted in place of the disc brake front end.

I don't remember the TLS drums being too bad myself - guess I'll find out soon  :D

Don't worry about it. Just turn up with the disck brake front end. What they told you was crap. As long as it was possible to fit a disk brake front end to your bike back in 1984 then it should be fine.

84 Yamaha XT600 had disc brake front on it? At harrow i bet you will see some IT 200/250/490's with a disk brake front end fitted. Probably there will be some 85/85 IT 200's as well.

Honestly, I'm okay with running the drum front end  :)

It won't take much work to fit, and apart from needing a set of fork seals, it looks to be in pretty good nick.

I'm more concerned about getting the rebore done - just waiting on the new piston to arrive...

Provided Pete makes it, it looks like we'll have a second Team of You, Flipper and P-air.

Fingers crossed the piston will turn up in the next couple of days - I can then safely put my entry in.

I started tidying up the drum brake front end today. It is mostly in pretty good shape, but I'll need to chase up a new brake cable, as the old one is kinked and jams up. Shoes and drum look fine. Fork seals have been ordered in.

I just checked this morning and Team AMTRA (1) is on the start list.

Interestingly enough, I've pulled the same number (and start position) as last year!

How many sleeps to go?

Better count me out of this one - things aren't going as well as I'd hoped with getting the TT ready. :(

How does the starting work and should we adopt a similar thing for the HCR ?

We pretty much do it the same other than send them out in number order.

Well the time has arrived and it's off to Harrow where the Weather will not be 25 Deg's and the wearing of Shorts n Tshirt are another 3 Months Away.

This will be my First Vinduro and i'm looking Forward to seeing all those Long Forgotten Old Clunker Bikes of years gone Bye.

I'm taking my Digital SLR Camera , so i can take some good Photo's and post them up here for all to see, and maybe get some Spark happening and get a few more Members Involved.

The 83 XR 200 is looking A1, but i'm still running the Old Plastics as the good ones i have are worth there Weight in Gold.

Is that picture smudged intentionally to hide the rider’s identity, because I still can make out who it is!

I confess...it is me!

I took the "man's" way through this section, while the other two hoiked up their skirts and went around.

Considering how deep my rear wheel got bogged, perhaps I should have avoided it too!
