Indication so far is good so it is happening on the Labour day long weekend from the 6th of March until the 8th of March at our club property at Abbeyard.
The weekend is aimed at family ,so mini bike riding for the kids, 4wd or fishing, or swimming in the river just below the property, bush walking, flying a kite, volley ball or cricket, or whatever else takes your fancy.
This would be a great opportunity for the members who have not had the pleasure of going to the property before to being able to spend a few days there and see how lucky we are to have such a great place to visit.
I would also like to combine it with a small working bee as there is a bit of whipper snipping needing doing to help with our fire plan.
If there was a few of us with whipper snippers we would only have to spend around 1hr each and it would be done.
Please either personel Message me or reply here to show so we know how many campers R coming.
For the members who have not been before we have hot showers and long drop toilets, generators and a large Barby and plenty of secluded grassed camping areas.
You are also welcome to bring your caravan along if you do not want to rough it to much in a tent or swag. Will

TAC cover can also be purchased for specified days, the postcode for the property is 3737 and you will need the model, year and VIN for the bike.

With the camping weekend only a couple of weekends away please make sure you have read the club property code of conduct form found in the members area Abbeyard What you need to know , follow the link.

If you are able to help with whipper snipping and brush cutting please remember to pack you machine and cord and blades and fuel etc.

For the Non Registered Vehicle Transport Accident Cover Certificate go to a Vic Roads office with the bikes details including Vin or Chassis number and engine Number and ask for a TAC Code 85 accident cover, you will only need enough cover for the days which you will be at the property so no need for a 12mth cover if the other is available.

Please also make sure you download the contract for the use of Unregisterable vehicles on the AMTRA property and fill one out for each bike and or each rider, so if you have one bike but more than one rider then fill out one for each rider or if you have one bike for each rider then one form each or if you have more than one bike but only one rider then one for each bike, if confused call Will on0 0414354317, and remember to bring them along and hand them in to either myself or Mat Richmond.

You can ring VicRoads on 131171 to get the TAC cover (Form 85)

It is an unregisterable vehicle cover, rather than a non-registerd vehicle permit. It sounds the same to us but means different things to Vic Roads. They will not have done many.

Looks like I will get clear of the factory move, so at this stage, I'll head up on Saturday morning (not too early), and will be looking forward to doing a HCR loop on Sunday.

100Km range will get you around.

Oh, I thought he might be considering doing the ride on his push bike!

Saturday loop is around 160klm with a fuel stop at Harrietville which is around 60klm from abbeyard.

I see people are planning to ride the HCR route; I have four sets of route sheets to test that are ready to be picked up.
I do plan to get up there this weekend and do a bit more work but probably will not get there till Sunday lunchtime, a little late for anyone wanting to ride the course.

This may surprise a few, but I'm with Serge. I am so haddocking sick of going to Abbeyard and walking around in the mud. Setting up in rain and packing up in the rain. I'm staying home. I enjoy riding in the wet, but haddock camping in it AGAIN. I can't remember going there and it NOT raining.

Lead the ride for 5 more hours after I breaking the leg in two places and stopped when two blokes said it was to hot to continue so we headed back. We stayed and I shouted beers and softies for all riders; got home around 7pm broke the leg at 10am isH. Reckon I might claim HTFU=BRAD on this one!@

Maybe i should have gone to "The Yard" because i wouldn't have a SS ute that looks like a car straight from Baghdad. >:(

hail is a prick and a vandal, he will kick the crap out of your cars, break your skylight, laserlite and windows, and then melt away, flooding your house while making his exit.

Mind you, could be worse: could be at Abbeyard getting 60+ mm of rain over the weekend, then come home and find what mr hail had done.

Up in the high country the current wind is about 45KM/hr and the rainfall was 71mm at Wangaratta, 63mm at Falls Creek and 45mm at Mt Buller. Think the yard has taken a big dump and perhaps some of the trees are now horizontal! Ok Serge you were right.

put my tent up in the rain friday night. saturday was raining am but turned into rather warm day we went for a ride about 3 ish i came off hit embankment with log protruding out . went to hosi today to see wat dammage i ve done one fractured rib . sat night rain started again woke sunday to non stop rain packed up tent in rain now have very muddy tent in shed trying to dry and yes it is a hell of a long drive to the yard . from team sook member    PS this does not mean that i had avery bad weekend as there were lots of good company and great moments had as well and i appreciate the use of the land so thankyou to amtra for a good weekend . seano

There was no hail at Abbeyard, did a lazy 100km ride on Sunday.  Packed up this morning in the sun.

You're right.  Abbeyard is a great place to catch up and spend time with AMTRA members.  I've forgotten how many good nights I've spent there.  Come to think of it, I forget MOST nights I spend there!

Yep, great weekend (for ducks). Convoyed with the Fatboy & his son Hamish on Friday morning, cross country to the Abbey, with a stop off at "Tarts" in Mansfield. Rain started about,um, Whitfield & didn't stop till Saturday morning ???. All the crew did maintenance stuff around the property until about 1-ish & then decided to head off for a blast. We didn't let Marls come... ;D... It was the shortest ride with the most um, little catasrophe's. Our tailman Seano on Camp Creek Track, decided to do a bit of 'Jousting' on a tree stump (ouch), sorry to hear about the broken rib mate, hope you heal real soon, then there was Doug on an off doing the downhill slalem & hurting foot & shoulder & broken lever  :-X, um, then there was Jeff with a flat tyre, didn't know it was flat till midway of the ride ::), then there was Mr Will cooking his breaks with gas, on another slalem downhiller, which locked up & had to let the steam out, and I mean steam, they were smoki'n, even out of his ears! :o
Me, well, um, was wondering why my bike was handling like a pogo stick...yeh my rear shocker was so shocked with it all, it blew!  :D  And the last big downhill down Schulz's track, Jeffrey had an off on the boulders & we had to repair the sidecasing with a hole in it on his toy & that's about it. Got back to camp at around 5.30 then had to take Marls out on an adventure ride 8). Thanks to everyone & Dave Smith for leading the ride on Saturday.

Well Mrs Serge, I care & I even brought along special wine glasses brought from Italy to complement the well Vintaged Chardy/Champers & then I hear from Coach Mat, you're not coming ??? Lucky for Mat cause he ended up sharing it with me... What can I say, abit of rain never stopped anyone, especially all the kids that came who had an ace time on the bottom paddock (including me  ;D) practacing MX skills.
The scenery down Abbeyard Road further down is spectacualr & I really look forward to checking out Razorback  & Cobblers  tracks next time with Ted (too wet for me on Sunday morning to give them a crack  :'(). Great camping & great bunch of guys & gals to be with...Thanks AMTRA....
