Sat 11th December Noojee-Fumina-Neerim South L2 Tri-area ride

Hi, Stepping the ride up to Level 2 as we will cross some major rivers on this ride, please make sure you bring the toolkit if bike de-watering is required. Mostly this means tools to remove the seat, air filter, tank and spark plug. A spare spark plug and some WD40 or similar is worth bringing. If you haven't seen or de-watered a bike it is relatively simple and extremely useful to know.
From experience if the bike falls in the water, kill the engine and try to save it, the less it goes under the better and NEVER try to restart it. Ask for help, there will be plenty on hand and push it to the other side to investigate how things are.

Take care if overtaking and if you are taking it easy try to keep a left line to allow for people to pass. Ride at your own pace it's not a race just a good day out with some mates who all want the fun and be safe. P.S. The bike in front always has right of way.

We will get onto some great tracks in Noojee, Fumina and Neerim South.
Meet at 8.30am for 9am on the bikes the tracks will be a mix of flow, ups and downs, narrow and some river crossings.
Fuel for 120K's minimum and ride may go to 140K's NO fuel is available in the ride area but we can do a fuel dump. Lunch will be on the trails, Rec Reg welcome.
Start location is the T junction of Mt Baw Baw Tourist Rd and Vesper Rd. Please Note two things the Vesper Rd I am referring to is a RHT at the top of the hill on the C426 MT Baw Baw Tourist Rd as you head from Noojee to Mt Baw Baw. There is NO sign post it is best identified as a RED clay cutting entrance. If you go to far down the Mt Baw Baw road you will hit the next T junction of the C465 Fumina Rd on RHS so turn around go back up the hill and take the first Road on the LHS being Vesper Rd. Note some locals and maps also call this section of Vesper Rd, Ferguson Rd.

If you are up for it refreshments will be at the "Tool Shed" Noojee, afterwards. People who drop their bikes in the rivers (hence dewatering down time) are asked to go to the Tool Shed and shout a round.

Attached is a map.

Hey, you watch what you say about that "idiot down the road", he might drag YOU out on one of his days and show you what good ride is!

We are the other EXTREME ride full of terror and ride speed with mayhem for good measure.
After a little practice and time, confidence comes and folks improve to take on the "Fumina AlWR" thats what we aim for succession planing to the ride down the road which seemed to finish before ours as they tooted past on the way home.
Slow and steady refining skills is the Noojee ride. We may make it to Fumina one day, be gentle to start!
