Absolutely nothing wrong with the bike, other than tatty plastics, ran great.
It was stolen recovered & cannot be re-registered.
I have dismantled it.
I will rebuild it if still interested, all parts still there.
It will be built RIGHT,ex F1 engineer.
$3800 with new plastics, would require a deposit if interested,no offence mate but don't want to do a heap of work if not interested?

Why cant it be re registered?

It's not like it's been in a major smash and lost it's structural integrity.

It would still meet ADR wouldn't it.

If the insurance company has payed out their money they have no more say in what happens to it now.

At that price I'd also be interested in it, for the daughter but only if it could be registered Huh

Hello Tim,
Only going off what vic roads tell me.
I dont know the regulations here, only been in the country almost 9 months.
To my limited knowledge it cannot be re-registered.
The TTR is a nice clean bike & can be registered, would you be interested in this one Tim?

What did Vic Roads say was the reason it can't be registered?

Just because it was stolen doesn't change the it's ability to be registered as long as it wasn't written off because of structural damage.
I can understand a car being unable to be re registered after being in a major collision and being damaged beyond repair. That's how they stop the "cut and shunt" guys.
But a bike that's been stolen and is not structurally damaged???
You can replace plastic easy, they shouldn't just look at plastic and say that it can't be repaired.

They didn't I reckon probably make more wrecking it than selling complete anyway.
Engines seem to make strong money.
Plus gives me a spare set of wheels & suspension which I can play with.
I guess your not interested in the TTR?

I've been looking at bikes in that price range for the daughter. $3800 for a 05 WR250F is a good price for a complete, sound bike of that calibre.
Was it your bike before it was stolen?
Given a WR250 would be a big step for her but she'd be set for ever with it and if I needed another bike...
The TTR doesn't appeal to me as a second bike, they are a good bike though.
Power to weight and suspension the WR is the better bike.
Do you know the WR's former Registration number, I could ask the question at VicRoads.
