Title: RMX 250 - 1994 Post by: 94rmx250 on September 02, 2010, 01,38:49 PM For Sale is my 94 RMX 250.
I've owned it since late 97 early 98. i rode it around Noojee maybe 6 times in the first few years before having nobody to ride with :( From then up untill oct 04 it was sporadically ridden around a mates property in castlemaine - fairly flat tame riding.. It then sat untouched, unstarted and unridden untill June 09 when i stripped down the top end and gave it some loving which included: - new piston kit ($230) - power valve guides ($379) - all top end gaskets - front and rear sprockets - DID heavy duty x ring chain - front and rear wheel bearings - front michellin S12 tyre total parts - $1228.65 purchased through Mick Hone Suzuki (receipts with bike) I had a mechainc friend do the above work (i passed him the spanners!!!) and he also took away and measured, cleaned and prep'd the cylinder and head. i had the bike rejetted by in-tune in ringwood and also ended up replacing the CDI with a secondhand unit after frying the original one whilst sorting out the lighting for rec reg.. i obtained the rec reg on September 11th and started riding it 2 weeks later.. i rode it approx 8 times (3 x 1/2 day and 5 full day rides) between then and feb this year when i came off and had an injury enforced layoff.. the bike hasnt been ridden since and now needs to go ( i told my partner that i'd advertise it within 3 weeks - in march!!) The bike goes really well and for its age is in fairly good condition, along with replacing the above parts i also had in-tune replace the fork seals before my last ride on it and i put new renthal bars and pro taper pillow top grips on a few rides before that. Also included is the original owners manual and a Clymers workshop manual it does need a few things: - rear tyre is stuffed - an old S12 and is missing ALOT of knobs - brake pedal bush is worn - either needs a bush made for it or a whole new pedal assembly (approx $155 through suzuki) - rubber bushes for the handle bar mounts... at least i think thats the issue - they look ok but the handlebars "twist" easily when the bike is dropped other things to mention: - the plastics are faded (its 16 years old!) - the r/h side cover has a crack in it - SMALL tear in seat cover - rec reg expires this month - dent in expansion chamber - right where the pipe gaurd ends! Overall, for the money its a good, reliable bike that still goes fairly hard. would suit someone whos looking for a cheap entry into our beloved sport or even someone looking for a cheap backup?!!?! $1900 or best offer... *pm me for any infor or my phone number Title: Re: RMX 250 - 1994 Post by: Brad Somers on September 03, 2010, 12,42:29 AM You can't sell this bike because then your name will be all out of wack!!
