Post by: nathanstott on August 26, 2013, 06,24:28 AM
This video is awesome to watch, it's where the pioneers of desert racing perfected their tank slappers!!
800 start 250 finish and legend JN Roberts takes the win on his 67 Husky 360 viking!

Awesome Nath, did you hear the guy who made the film say his son made "Dust to Glory"

We need a chopper to get the footage of you on that new Husky of yours in the desert, I'll leave you to organise that, thanks in advance.

No cross brace padding and no full face helmets, I wonder how many teeth were lost in that race?

Bruce Brown made On Any Sunday and narrated that youtube video and his son Dana made Dust to Glory, which i've seen 400 times.
As far as a helicopter goes, i think i will just buy a drone from ebay mount the controls to the bars and get the aerial shots that way, so no need for a helicopter
Everyone who lost teeth in that race now barraks for collingwood!

OK,

A couple of observations.....

1. These guys are NUTS!
2. These guys are TOUGH NUTS!
3. Quote of the show: "If you're thirsty, grab a quick drink of water!"......YA THINK!
4. Chalk course markings, good for the first 8 riders, then it's anyone's' guess!
5. These guys are NUTS!

Thanks Nath, that's a ripper!

What Serge said!!

Also what about the wimp who wore shoulder pads? Seriously a couple of broken bones and they turn into pu55ies.

And only 250 of the 800 riders left at the half way mark!  They must have gone to the Seano school of bike maintenance.

i love the pit stop where they are refuelling a bike, someones standing there with a lit cigarette, once the bikes full they shove the cigarette in the riders mouth, and off he rides having a smoke!!
