Whats the cost Bob Of both I mean I have been looking at a Husqvarna TE 449. I've sought the advise of some experienced amtra members to the prospects of buying one and I'm liking the idea. 7.5 k for a 2012 no reg and 8 k for a 2013 no reg. What do people think I know about "depends on where u ride" and "the type of rider you are" and most things... What do the masses think I think the main probs are resale, but ill keep it for awhile and parts after KTM bought them out !!! Some advice please Thanks..

If I had a bit more $ around I'd get one, I've been thinking of the pros and cons and I recon for the $ it would be a good thing. The resale I think is a non issue as you paid a lot less to start with and I believe a bike that cost a lot more would devalue by a greater percentage in the same time. In a few years time 2nd hand they will be still cheaper the 13 model of anything else and easy for someone to get onto a later model bike. I know of only one that has had an engine issue and that was caused by the owner. Even then I was amazed in how far it went before the problem was noticed. Go for it, and you can buy me one at the same time

Ps if your gunna service it yourself pay attention to what your doing cos things can go wrong yours truly Drongo

I had been looking for a while and I have always liked the husky. When it came down to it, the price was unbeatable. From all reports the bike is almost unbreakable and most major parts are off the shelf items from well known manufacturers. The engine is made by Kymco, one of the biggest bike makers so parts should not be a problem. The only problem for me is the 8.5 litre tank but it just means carrying a few litres or perhaps buying a behind seat tank for longer rides.

Hey Lefty...we would be looking at $12,000- $13,000 each brand new...time for me to look at upgrading from the TTR230 as its been a great learning bike and move on to a full size bike and Johnny is thinking - and only thinking about maybe going from the 570 to the 350. We go through Bairnsdale KTM so we know he will look after us price wise etc...as for re Sale value- these would more than likely be the last bikes we would buy, especially me so i would be happy to pay the money and just ride it for the rest of my days- I'm no spring chicken anymore after all Johnny reckons the husky your talking about would be a great deal...choices ha:) .

My look on buying new Bikes:
"Don't buy what you don't want" You will only Kick yourself in the long Run.
If you want a certain Bike and you don't have the $$$$, just save a bit more and get what you really want, and you will be happy as a pig in Sh!t !!!
